I believe there is no one-size-fits-all, so I draw from a number of approaches in therapy. My foundation is in the Person Centred approach. This means we explore what’s important to you week to week and at your pace. I also bring in aspects of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy when we explore thoughts and beliefs. This might also mean taking away something to work on in between sessions. Psychodynamic Therapy is how we will identify patterns that repeat in your life and come to understand how the past shows up in the present. I also like to bring body awareness into the mix. Our bodies can tell us a lot about our emotional state. That shoulder niggle or ongoing stomach problems? This could be your body signalling to you that you’ve taken on too much or you’re not looking after yourself.
